Upper Dolpo Trekking is a difficult journey and demands well-prepared trips. The trail is slightly different from usual trekking trails of Nepal, more on the steep and rugged side. Therefore, one needs to be physically fit and healthy to go on Upper Dolpo Trek 26 days. Upper Dolpo is a very remote part of Nepal with limited infrastructure. The trail offers serene walking and ample time to escape in nature.

Trekking in Upper Dolpo is like traveling back in time. The lifestyle, art, architecture, beliefs, practices, and values everything is still the same as hundreds of years ago. From centuries-old monasteries to the jewel of the Himalayas, Shey Phoksundo Lake, and magical shamanistic influence throughout the region, Upper Dolpo Trekking offers unbelievable wonders. To protect and preserve this unspoiled nature and cultural heritage, the Nepal government has implemented strict rules and regulations over the tourism flow in Upper Dolpo. Every year only a handful of travelers are allowed to trek in Upper Dolpo with an expensive permit and mandatory guides & porters.

During the trekking, you will trek through dense forests, where you might come across rare wildlife like snow-leopard, highly valued medicinal herbs like Yarsagumba, diverse vegetation, and a range of birds. Likewise, the trail crosses numerous bridges, picturesque mountain villages, and passes like Nagdalo La (5,350 m), Shey La (5,010 m) & Jeng La (5,220 m). Enjoying the captivating landscape, unlike any other place, you will reach Shey Gompa, a very significant pilgrimage site.
