Opened in 2012, Mardi Himal Trek follows a very wild forested route and offers off-the-beaten trekking experience in a short trek. Located closely by one of the most famous trekking trails in Nepal, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Mardi Himal Trekking route is the hidden treasure in the Himalayas. Trekking through dense forests of rhododendron, oak, pine, etc you will reach the Upper View Point from where breath-taking sunrise can be witnessed. Not only this, but the trail also passes by the base of Mt. Macchapucchre (not open for climbing), Machhapuchhre Base Camp.
Mardi Himal Trek is relatively a new trekking trail. Not many travelers have hit this adventurous trail, which still makes Mardi Himal Trek 12 Days a good option to go for if you are looking for a less crowded trail. Even though this trek is considered moderate, the trail has its fair share of difficult sections as well. If you are a beginner trekker, the journey might be on the little challenging side for you not only because of the trail but also the remoteness of the region.
On the way, you will get to witness a diverse range of flora and fauna. Likewise, Himalayan mountains like Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt. Fishtail (6,993 m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Mardi Himal (5,587 m), etc are visible throughout the Mardi Himal Trekking. The trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Kande, which is the starting point of the trek. From here, you will walk by Australian Camp and Pothana to reach Deurali. The trail then leaves Annapurna Sanctuary trail and follows off the beaten track that leads to Forest Camp. The next day, you will gradually ascend on a steep trail to Low Camp and embark to the High Camp. The trail further ascends to the Upper Viewpoint and continues following a complete new downhill trail that leads to Lumre via Sidding village.
Along with all the wilderness and adventure, you will also get to observe the daily lifestyle and culture of the locals. Mardi Himal Trek 12 Days offers a very exceptional experience in a short period, unlike any other trekking trails in the Himalayas. The best time to go on the Mardi Himal Trek is during spring (March to April) and autumn (October to November). These are the peak months to go on this trek because of stable weather and a mild climate. For information regarding Mardi Himal Trek package or Mardi Himal Trek cost, get in touch with us anytime.
