Guerrilla Trek is one of the least visited treks of Nepal. As the trail is relatively new, not many travelers know about it, which makes the Guerrilla Trekking serene and less crowded. This trek is no doubt the most adventurous and wild journey in the remoteness of the Himalayas. You will be traversing the western part of Nepal, Rukum and Rolpa region. Both of these regions are underdeveloped and far away from modernization. The most fascinating thing about Guerrilla Trek is that it features the trails used by Maoists during the Nepalese Civil War (ended in 2006).

The trail includes dense forests of rhododendron and vegetation along with lush green hills, cold rivers, rare wildlife, chirping birds, and stunning views of the Himalayan mountains. During the Guerrilla Trek, you also pass by the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, the only hunting reserve in Nepal. Along the way, you can see the breath-taking landscape and mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Churen Himal (7,163 m), Putha Himal (7,246 m), Gurja Himal (7,150 m), Sisne Himal (5,911 m), etc.

Rukum and Rolpa fall under the restricted area of Nepal, which means you have to get special permission from the government of Nepal to join the Guerrilla Trek. The trail is unspoiled and captivating. Moreover, the trek offers a very unique lifestyle and unbelievable beliefs. Magars are the main community that resides here, following Kham culture and a distinct language of the Tibeto-Burman family. People here are still huge believers of Shamanism. Still, they call shamans if someone gets sick in their family. Almost every major activity requires a shamanic ritual to get it solved.

Guerrilla Trekking is nothing less than traveling back in time. To this date, the way locals of this place is living their life is magical. Living along with the spiritual world and keeping up with their ancient traditions has made them a very valuable asset of our country. The experience you will get to have during Guerrilla Trek is phenomenal. From spectacular landscape to centuries-old thriving beliefs and unimaginable adventure, Guerrilla Trek 16 days is a once in a lifetime journey.

We have designed our Guerrilla Trek itinerary adding adequate rest days. Likewise, the chances of altitude sickness during the trek is relatively low then other famous treks of Nepal like Everest Base Camp Trek or Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
