Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft).

After landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport you will meet with our trek team members near the terminal gate holding your nameplate. He will take you to the hotel and quickly inform you regarding the further program. For today, you are free to rest and explore nearby areas on your own.

This is an extra day in Kathmandu that will let you relax after your long flight to Kathmandu. If it's your first time in Nepal You might do sightseeing by yourself at a few monuments like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhnath Stupa, etc. And today, you will prepare for the trek. In the afternoon, you meet with the trek guide, and he will let you know about further trek plans. If anything is missing for the trek, your trek guide will help you to shop.

A short thrilling flight will take you to Lukla from where the EBC trek begins. The trail from Lukla descends through small villages and forested areas. It is going to be a short and easy walk to Phakding.

The trail continues along the northern bank of the Dudh Koshi river and crosses several suspension bridges over the same river. From Monjo onwards, you trek through Sagarmatha National Park. The trail steeply ascends through dense forests, where you come across diverse vegetation and lead you to the economic hub of the Khumbu region, Namche Bazar.

This is an extra day in Namche Bazar. This rest day is very important for acclimatization. You will go on a short hike to the Everest View Hotel and other places. During the hike, you can enjoy stunning views of snow-capped mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam, etc. Likewise, you will visit ancient monasteries and museums.

Leaving Namche Bazar, the trail heads towards Tengboche village. In this village, you get to visit the oldest and the biggest monastery of the Khumbu region, the Tengboche monastery. The trail from Namche Bazar includes several ascends and descends. Walk enjoying the beautiful landscape and cross the Dudh Koshi River. Further, the trail passes by dense alpine forest and takes you to Tengboche.

The trail passes by Pangboche village, where you stop by a very old monastery. Further, enjoying amazing views of Ama Dablam mountain, you enter Imja Valley. The trail descends to a river and steeply ascends to Dingboche, the Summer Valley of Khumbu region.

Today, the trail offers outstanding views of the Himalayan mountains. The trail gradually ascends following a wide valley. Crossing a glacial moraine, you climb and pass by the memorial statues before reaching Lobuche village, situated at the foot of Lobuche Peak.

The day begins early in the morning. Trekking along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu glacier, you reach Gorak Shep, which used to be the base camp of Mt. Everest in early climbing days. From here, the trail passes by the Army Mountaineers Memorials and leads you to the Everest Base Camp. Here, you will spend some time and explore around before trekking back to Gorak Shep for a night stay.

You wake up early in the morning and ascend to Kala Patthar to witness gorgeous sunrise and 360-degree views of Everest. The trail will be steep and rugged. After spending some time at the viewpoint, you descend to Pheriche. The trail passes by lush forests, meadows, and small settlement areas.

After having breakfast, you trek back to Namche Bazar. You will be following the same trail as before. Trekking through dense forests of rhododendron, pine, oak, etc, you will cross many suspension bridges and pass by Pangboche and Tengboche villages.

The trail descends through the national park. On the way, you cross several bridges and streams. Likewise, the trail goes through lush forests and fine villages. The trail is the same as before.

After having a warm breakfast, you fly back to Kathmandu, enjoying the last views of the Himalayas. Upon landing at the airport, you move to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day as per your wish and do shopping. In the late evening, you will join a farewell dinner organized by the company.

This is your last day in Kathmandu. One of our team members will be at the hotel lobby as per your flight departure time to take you to the airport. We wish you our last goodby, until next time.
