Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft).

After landing at the Tribhuvan international airport you will meet with our trek team members near the terminal gate holding your nameplate. He will take you to the hotel and quickly inform you regarding the further program. For today, you are free to rest and explore nearby areas on your own.

This is an extra day in Kathmandu that will let you relax after your long flight to Kathmandu. If it's your first time in Nepal You might do sightseeing by yourself at a few monuments like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhnath Stupa, etc. And today, you will prepare for the trek. In the afternoon, you meet with the trek guide, and he will let you know about further trek plans. If anything is missing for the trek, your trek guide will help you to shop.

With an early morning scenic flight, you reach Lukla from where the trek begins. The flight will be short and thrilling. The trail from Lukla gradually descends through the forested path and passes by Cheplung village. From here, you trek and reach Phakding that welcomes you with superb views of Kusum Kanguru and Mt. Khumbila.

The trail from Phakding ascends through small villages like Jorsale and Monjo. Monjo is the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park. The trail from here ascends steeply, crossing several streams and bridges. As you will trek through lush forests, you get to see a range of flora.

Today is a rest day. You will spend the day going on a hike to acclimate your body with the altitude. You will visit the Everest View Hotel, famous for its breath-taking views of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, etc. Likewise, you will also explore the Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum.

The trail ascends to Phungki Thanka. From here, you walk following the Dudh Koshi River. Further, trekking through the dense forest of rhododendron, you reach Tengboche, where you will visit the oldest monastery of the Khumbu region. Likewise, from here you can witness outstanding views of several snow-capped mountains.

After having breakfast, you cross the Imja River over a suspension bridge and ascend towards Dingboche. Dingboche is a beautiful village, also known as the Summer Valley. Here, you will get to see fields of many crops and vegetables. Similarly, mountains like Lhotse, Island Peak, Ama Dablam, etc are visible from this village.

Another rest day to acclimate your body before moving further towards the base camp. The day is spent going on a hike to Nagarjun Hill that offers sensational views of Taboche Peak, Mt. Thamserku, Lobuche East, Mt. Kangtega, Mt. Ama Dablam, etc. Later, you can explore the village and spend time with the locals.

From Dingboche, you trek and reach Dhungla. Further, passing by the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche village, you ascend to a ridge, where you will see memorial stones and a shrine. The trail from here takes you to Lobuche village situated at the lap of Mt. Lobuche.

Today, you begin walking early in the morning. The trail passes by Gorak Shep, which was the base camp for Mt. Everest in 1953 expeditions. The trail ascends alongside Khumbu Glacier moraine and Khumbu Icefall. The trail will be tougher than other days and involves ice walking as well.

Upon reaching the base camp, you will find yourself surrounded by layers of white snow and the high point of the mountains touching the sky. You will spend some time at the base camp and return to Gorak Shep for a night stay.

Today, you will wake up early in the morning and ascend to the famous Kala Patthar. This place is located just above the Everest Base Camp and is known for offering gorgeous sunrise along with 360-degree views of the Mt. Everest. After spending some time at the viewpoint, you will take a thrilling heli ride back to Lukla. During the ride, you get to see aerial views of the Himalayas. Trust us, this view will blow your mind away.

After having your last breakfast, enjoying views of mountains, you fly back to Kathmandu. Upon landing at the airport, you move to the hotel and rest for the day. You can do shopping and dine in a lovely restaurant. In the evening, you will meet team members over farewell dinner.

Best Season

Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek is mostly done in March to May and September to November. These are the peak months to go on Everest Base Camp Luxury Trekking because of clear views, stable weather, and moderate climate. Likewise, during trekking in these months, you also come across several exotic vegetation as well as trekkers from all around the globe.

Likewise, trekking from December to February is also possible, however you have to carefully prepare for the trek. As there will be extreme cold, you gotta pack more warm clothes. The views might not be clear all the time like peak seasons. Similarly, trekking from June to August is not recommended because of unstable weather and unclear views.

Difficulty

Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek is a moderate trek. Still, if you are a beginner trekker, then the trail might get a little difficult for you because of steep ascends and descends. You have to be in good shape and health to join Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek. Before the beginning of the journey, we highly advise you to go on a few short hikes and exercise.

Altitude Sickness

Altitude sickness during Everest Base Camp Luxury Trekking is something that can happen if the itinerary does not include ample rest days.
